I actually like using Adobe software. Back in the day, the alternative was the unthinking and resolutely awful Macromedia and their lamentably bad software.

However, what I can say is, I do agree with you on the support front when it comes to Adobe, as I allude to in the linked article concerning the spectacularly broken Adobe Contribute.

I (and this is a very strong feeling) HATE Adobe, personally. I hate their customer service reps personally and their entire corporation.

I can't believe that any company in this day and age could act so irresponsibly towards the very same people that give them the cash to funnel into corporate jets instead of usability studies. A bunch of A-holes if you ask me.

I call them everyday and make them hold for 20 minutes until I feel better and then tell them "nevermind".

Ah passive aggression rulez.

I know where you're coming from about the adobe website being poor. I have bought things from there in the past and it wasn't the easiest shopping experience.

I've been trying for days to download the flash player for windows but the adobe website won't work for love or money. Bad really, considering flash is everywhere on the Internet and the one place where I know I can get it, doesn't work.
