Got questions? Hope so! I've certainly given you enough to think about. Here are the answers to some of the more common questions that crop up from time to time.

Why should my business choose you over anyone else?

Several very good reasons, actually. But let me ask you a few questions first:

What does a new customer mean to you?
How much is one new customer worth to you?

What do you charge for your time?

I charge £45 per hour. My typical working day is 8 hours. So that means a whole day of my time will cost you £360.

However, if the size & scale of a project is suitably large and complex, then I may well adjust my rates downwards.

What does this really mean, you may ask. My time means the following deliverables and benefits:

Over 10 years of experience.
If I have to buy in services from third parties, I don't mark up the costs.
I will personally manage the project for you.
You will always know exactly where your money is being spent.
I'm not learning my trade on your time.
I only charge if I work the hour in full, which means you're getting the maximum work per hour, no cutting corners.
A lower Total Cost of Ownership (I work smart, so you get scalable, powerful tools that will grow cost effectively and efficiently over time)
A higher Return On Investment (I help you force every penny you spend to work as hard as possible, and because it's only me you need to pay from your profits, you're going to see a return.)
Over time, most clients either save or earn more money than you spend with me.

I also charge an over time rate of £55 per hour. This charge will only be incurred should the work that I'm undertaking require time outside of the regular working hours, which are 9am to 6pm GMT Monday to Friday.

In addition to this, for any project exceeding £3,000.00 in value, I would break the project billing stages down into at least three parts, each billing period being issued throughout the lifetime of the project.

Do you provide written quotations?

Absolutely! Providing detailed, written quotations is an essential part of how I serve my existing as well as potential, prosepctive clients.

In addition, I will furnish you with a detailed, modular estimate of time & cost, so that you and your colleagues can mull over what to go with or what to place on the backburner until either time or budget allow.

Do you provide estimates over the phone?

As a rule, no. This is because answering that question is reliant on the specifics of the circumstances, such as the nature of the service in question.

For complex, involving projects, I would only be able to provide extreme approximations of time & cost. For a simple point-of-presence website and the like, I may be tempted to yield a more accurate list of figures.

Do you provide any after-sales support service?

Do you accept school or college placement students?

Currently no. I have neither the space nor the time or resources to offer placement positions.

Do you offer a discounted service for charities, or charitable bodies?

Unfortunately, no. The bottom line is, feeling better about yourself by charging little if anything for services rendered doesn't pay the bills.
